Google’s massive rebranding campaign turned all its AI products into Google Gemini. The rebranding is currently in progress, and starting today, Duet AI for Google Workspace will transition into Gemini for Google Workspace. As part of the move, Google has released a standalone “chat with Gemini” experience for Workspace customers while opening up Gemini access to all consumers through the Google One AI Premium subscription.
Gemini through Google One AI Premium across Google apps
Starting today, Google One subscribers who subscribe to the new $19.99 per month Google One AI Premium plan can access Gemini across their personal Gmail, Docs, Slides, Sheets, and Meet apps. This is rolling out to English language users in more than 150 countries.
In Gmail and Docs, Gemini enables features like Help Me Write, which uses generative AI to help you draft emails and other content.
In Slides, Gemini can create images with text prompts; in Meet, you can use it to generate backgrounds.
Gemini can help you organize in Sheets by creating agendas and more across your sheet data.
Google is offering a two-month trial of this new subscription tier, and with the features now available, you can take the company up on its offer to see if the new tier makes sense for your use cases.
Gemini for Google Workspace: Chat with Gemini
Starting today, Workspace customers can use the standalone “Chat with Gemini” feature at gemini.google.com.
Chat with Gemini allows you to converse with the AI for any of your generational AI needs but with the added advantage of enterprise-grade data protections and copyright indemnification. Your conversations with Gemini are not used for advertising purposes or to improve Google’s generative machine-learning technologies. Your conversations are also not reviewed by humans or shared with other users or organizations.
As for use cases, you can use it for anything that you might need generative AI for. You can use it to research and summarize data, look for business trends across complex data sets, or create compelling copy.
Gemini for Google Workspace: Plans
Gemini for Workspace is available via two plans. Gemini Enterprise replaces Duet AI for Workspace Enterprise and offers “unfettered access” to Gemini for heavy users of generative AI, costing $360 per user per year. It also includes AI-powered meetings where Gemini can translate captions in 100+ language pairs and could soon even take meeting notes for you.
Gemini Business is a new add-on at a lower price point that extends Gemini access to teams and organizations of all sizes to get started with generative AI, costing $240 per user per year. Both will be available as an add-on for new and existing Workspace customers.
